Jared Ryder Foundation

Jared's Story

Jared Ryder Snyder was born on December 21, 2022, to Justin and June Snyder (President and Vice President of the Jared Ryder Foundation). Jared was born with a congenital heart disease (CHD) called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS), a complex and rare heart disease that was discovered prenatally at 20 weeks.

Over the course of less than 2 years, Jared underwent multiple open-heart surgeries(the first being at 5 days old), heart catheterizations, and being placed on a Ventricular Assist Device (VAD). Finally, in May 2024, Jared’s heart transplant surgery day had arrived. Tragically, complications following the transplant led to the passing of our sweet Jared on July 21, 2024.

During the 8-month inpatient stay, Jared brought so much joy to everyone around him with his one-tooth smile, silly waves, and constant love for blowing raspberries. If anyone was having a difficult day, a visit with Jared was just what they needed. Jared loved reading his sensory books, watching Ms. Rachel, and participating in arts and crafts. He was also known for his diverse taste in music, from Queen to Jimmy Buffet to Journey and more.

To honor Jared’s legacy, our family founded the Jared Ryder Foundation, a nonprofit 501(c)(3) organization, to Help Children and Their Families affected by Congenital Heart Disease. Through fundraising and generous donations, our foundation brings this mission to life by providing care and support to children and families inpatient for CHD-related illnesses. From purchasing books, toys, and comfort items for kids, to providing necessary and comfort items for their families, our foundation supports everyone involved.

We would like to thank everyone who has been and will continue to be a part of our mission to support those affected by CHD. Your support is what truly makes the difference!
